Alfa Eridano Akhernar - The Myth

Darkness engulfs you in a brutal relentless grip from the very start of "The Myth"
with throat-slashing dark and brutal Metal assaulting you from all sides, like a dark resurrection of the Aztec War God himself... Overpowering, darkly divine, magnificent, ruthless and aggressive "The Myth" is pure genius in the art of blackened brutal metal, with a skill, invention and creativity that brings many much more well known bands to shame.

"The Myth" is the lastest full length release from Alfa Eridano Akhernar, and it is among the best albums in the history of brutal death/black metal anywhere. The talent and inspiration of this band must surely have come from the Aztec gods themselves, bringing to life the ancient Aztec war-god once more with their amazing mix of utterly destructive brutality, and soul-hammering atmosphere that brings a vision to the mind of devastating battles, bloody sacrifices, honour, pride and total annihilation.

The music is deeply moving, seething with a dark brutality that threatens to melt your stereo
on the spot, transporting you into a realm of darkness and death, and you lose yourself there, transfixed by the brutal bloodstained beauty of the music that surrounds you...And you never want to leave.

The technical skills of both band and vocalist are incredible, with an overwhelming
creativity and innovation, that leaves no doubt that Alfa Eridano Akhernar are more than
worthy of deep respect, attention and acclaim. Truly an amazing band! "The Myth" is
simply a must for any brutal death/black fan! One of my favourite albums of all time!\m/

Pantheon - No Way Out EP

Pantheon is a Heavy Metal band a bit out of the ordinary, with a very unique sound
that seems to pump out directly from their minds into the music. With a juicy raw
and thrashy feel, they entwine melodies of both classic and modern inspiration, speeding it up to a great head-banging tempo making it impossible not to move to the music. A great musical hotpot, spiked with the force, speed and powerful raw vocals of Thrash Metal and the ear-pleasing harmonies, solos, riffs and spirit of Heavy Metal.

Pantheon is indeed a force to be reckoned with, never hesitating, never looking back,
driving their music into the ears with ease. "No Way Out" is a great EP with good sound, a great cover and even better songs! The mix of harmonic melodies and raw Thrash is very invigorating, adding a new star in the skies of Metal...Pantheon!

"No Way Out" is a fresh breath of air in the art of Heavy Metal, updating the genre with
youthful enthusiasm, talent and new inspiration, but retaining that "classical" feel that heavy metal just have to have..the Soul of Heavy Metal.

Pantheon sets a great example for the new generation of Heavy and Thrash Metal  bands,
balancing their music expertly in the songs varying both speed and riffs without ever losing intensity. The music keeps you gripped from start to finish, and at the end you think "Oh...Is it over already?" with more than a hint of regret... If "No way Out" is being served, I'll have a double.

100 Knives Inside - Moral Fabrication EP

Moral Fabrication” is the second EP release from the Danish band 100 Knives Inside,
and its Death Metal with a twist...And a turn, and a sideways back-flip, full of surprises and tricks that constantly leaves the listener wondering what will happen next...

Experimental metal is both loved and hated among metal fans, but after hearing 100 Knives
Inside I am sure that many naysayers will change their mind. They bring out the best elements of experimentation, constantly keeping you on your toes, raising the stakes even more with superb technical skills, surprisingly beautiful harmonic riffs and Earth-Shattering brutality, coupled alluringly with lyrical themes involving the darker sides of society and human nature.

"Moral Fabrication" is a masterpiece of experimentation, mixing dark brutality, beauty and passion into a delightfully complex work of art that would soon scare off any half-hearted listeners, but will surely captivate and enthral most brutal metal fans who enjoys the challenge of enlightening and multi-faceted music.

100 Knives Inside has really done a fantastic job, once more reinventing experimental metal,
fusing it into a powerful sleek alloy with a density, strength, beauty and flexibility that would bring tears of joy in the eyes of any metalworker. Hear it and rejoice! Bask in the excellence that is 100 Knives Inside...

Gods of War - We March for Metal Demo

War has been declared...War on anything not Metal! With the making of “We March for Metal” Demo, Gods of War has issued a call to arms. With a brutal edge, intriguing guitar and bass riffs heavily spiced with pounding drums and harsh roaring vocals, they speed to the battle…

Wasting no time, they rally the people with catchy passages, invigorating shifts in the music and distinctively pagan metal flavored lyrics that suits the music brilliantly. Surely they must triumph…

Gods of War embrace metal as a whole, showing no fear or hesitation to use any tool or weapon at hand in their music, though never losing sight of the goal…To reach the Heavy Heart of Metal, that beats in the chest of all true metal heads.

As the battle rages, Gods of War show their true mettle, with courage and skill, challenging their foes to kneel to the Metal or face the consequences…The music is just that…Heavy, challenging and metal to the core. I have little doubt that these Metal fighters will rally many more to the battlefields of the stages. We have been summoned…Heed the call!

Psilocybe Larvae - Non-Existence

This awesome band from Russia, Psilocybe Larvae has now made 3 albums and show their
skills once more as a great metal band. The music is dark, sinister, with both melodic and
brutal riffs, but manages at the same time to keep it fresh and innovating as always. They
do not sound like other bands and never has, achieving as usual to sound totally unique
making them even more interesting, quite aside from their awesome musical skills and
sound. They have once more managed to create a pearl of an album.

It is hard to pick my favourite song on “Non-Existence”, all the songs have something new
to offer the listener, and the more you hear them the more things you realize are in it.
The music has so many layers, it is almost overwhelming, but it never gets boring hearing it.
The title of the album is well chosen, as the lyrics circle around that subject in various
aspects, with titles such as "Cold Desert of Eternity" and "Non-Existent World".

The music has all that you could wish for from Psilocybe Larvae, with beauty and
darkness mixed together to create a wide range of awesome and varied songs, that only
seems to get better and better the more you hear them. It also complements the themes
of the lyrics perfectly, deepening the feeling of oblivion and emptiness. “Non-Existence
is the 3rd album in the history of the band, and I can Only recommend them to everyone, no
matter what kind of metal you normally hear. They already become one of my favorite bands,
one I never hesitate to listen to at any time. Truly impressive music!

Psilocybe Larvae - Agony

First time I heard the intro song on the album "Agony" I was hypnotized. It's one
of the most moving intros I have heard in a long time, perhaps ever. The harmony is
almost horrifically perfect reminding me of the paper thin line between Agony and bliss...
One of my all time  favorite intros for sure.

The music is dark and shredding, with great black metal vocals to accompany it
The melodies are not forgotten at all though and "Agony" certainly lives up the what I have
come to expect from this band. The bands talent is very noticeable right away and they only
seem to get better as time passes.

I love the way they will totally surprise you, using instruments such as flutes with awesome skill and sense of harmony, and the sudden shifts in tempo and never lose a beat. The guitar solos are truly magnificent, as is the riffing in general. It is melodic, progressive, epic, dark, brutal, shredding, and beautiful all at once with inspiration from things such as black metal, neoclassical music, folk and more.

The only thing that bothers me (and only a little at that) is the drum sound.
The drummer is great, he is just sometimes a bit low and hard to hear, but that is the only
slightly-less-than-awesome thing on this album, and does not make me want to hear it
any less. "Agony" is such a great album, and my only regret is that I have not heard of this band years ago. A great follow up for the previous album "Stigmata", and another pearl in the collection.

Psilocybe Larvae - Stigmata

When you put on "Stigmata" the first album from Russian Psilocybe Larvae, you’re met
by a classical intro, which immediately shows the bands great musical talents. It is hard
not to fall in love with the combination of black/dark/manic depressive metal and neoclassical
beauty. The mixing of vocals from brutal black metal to deep evil voice of damnation, is
so fitting and sounds otherworldly.

"Stigmata" is a great album, far overreaching the average band. I predict a most
glorious carrier for this band. Psilocybe Larvae is a deeply fascinating band mixing
brutality, darkness and harmonious beauty in a way that would make many
of the much more famous melodic Scandinavian death and black metal bands
drop their jaws in awe. Some of the parts are so moving and deep that even
Beethoven must surely turn over in his grave...

The song "The Mystery" is a masterpiece of classical music with folk inspiration, I
just love it to bits. From start to end, "Stigmata" is a truly awesome and inspiring album,
the band instantly became a personal favorite of mine. Finally a band that doesn’t sound like
50 other bands, even the sound is awesome, raw and untamed,  but never sounding muddled.

It it easy to hear what the band is playing, though playing it obviously would require
and immense amount of talent and skill. The music is multi-layered and complex, but you
will not need to be a genius to appreciate it. Stigmata is simply one of the best
classic inspired albums in many, many years. I am awestruck!

The Machete Massacre - Hanging from the Gallows

It was the year 2009 AD when the world was pushed one step closer to the End of Existence... A ferocious monster lurking in the bowels of the earth awoke... And it was called The Machete Massacre.

The first release is called "Hanging from the Gallows", a self-released Demo EP which has all the marks of a full-grown Metal Monster. It's Brutal, contagious and bloody awesome! With elements from all corners of brutal metal, they blatantly disregard all thoughts of "traditional metal", transcending it all into pure soul-hammering brutality.

With beastly strong blasting drums, powerful pulsating bass lines, and deliciously evil guitar riffs, the music seems to taunt you, daring you to defy its power, safe in the knowledge that resistance is futile when it's two voices shred the mind with their apocalyptic deadly lyrics, delivered with great coordination and bone crushing force, creating a true Monster...The Machete Massacre!

The drive, power and innovation of this band is truly inspiring, and "Hanging from the Gallows" quickly became a personal favorite. The songs are relentless in their deadly embrace, digging their claws in ever deeper and deeper...

The Machete Massacre might need to label their releases, warning people of serious risk of
developing a chronic addiction to their songs!

Skyline Ablaze Debut EP

Heavy hard-hitting metal is on the menu, when Skyline Ablaze takes possession
of your stereo. Like a hammer blow the music pumps out of the speakers, with skill and precision. The powerful, pounding drums and bass lines blends in with in-your-face guitar riffs and brutal, hateful growls accompany the blasting metal beats.

The flow of the songs is captivating and cocoons you in a gentle, deadly web of both brutal and melodic passages that somehow does not contradict each other, but enhances each other in a way that demands immediate attention.

With an almost disturbing nonchalance, Skyline Ablaze creates a complex tapestry of Metal
both brutal and beautiful, with many varying passages, roaring brutal vocals, changing speeds, riffs and melodies as they see fit without even breaking into a sweat...

Skyline Ablaze has definitely delivered an impressive Debut EP showing talent, skill,
attitude and dedication. A great start for a great band, and I can warmly recommend this band to real metal heads.

Spleen Saint - Guilty Conscience Deletion

"Guilty Conscience Deletion" is the self-released Debut EP from Spleen Saint. I have looked forward to hearing it, and now that I have, I am not disappointed. Spleen Saint plays a hauntingly melodic black metal, with a precision and skill that speaks of talent and experience.

The first 3 minutes lulls you into a sense of tranquil dreamlike trance, with catching ghostly melodies interlocking and weaving together a solemn, haunting picture of “Sub Conscious Deletion”.

The journey of the mind continues with “Post Mortem Lover” with its subtle intro, quickly changing to blasting full guitar riffs and drums, and raw black metal vocals, but never losing sense of the haunting melodies, mixing it into a great dish of melodies and raw power.

“The Veil of Death” then creeps over you, covering your mind in its web of alluring melodies and endless darkness, accompanied by the lessening power of the drums, reminiscent of a slowly failing heartbeat…

Guilty Conscience Deletion”, ends this EP with beauty and grace, with a dark and deadly lullaby to begin with, only to lash out once more, with a long drawn out roar when you least expect it, crushing the last remnants of guilt…
